Rundle's Mission Capital Campaign:
A Place of Presence & Renewal-for the next 50 Years
In 1957, the founding members of Rundle's Mission Society saw that a retreat in an inspiring setting would help people renew body and spirit. Fifty years later, Rundle's Mission continues as a place of renewal and historic presence.
Thousands of people have visited the Mission . They have looked out over Pigeon Lake from the Memorial Lodge, paused at the artesian spring, wandered the interpretive boardwalk, or spent a restful night in our overnight guest facilities. For all the reasons that people come to RM, we know their experience is enhanced because of the inspirational setting and the history. Rundle's Mission wants to continue and improve on this legacy of hospitality and welcome on the shores of Pigeon Lake .
The time has come for the renewal of Rundle's Mission . We are working on bold plans for this place, including the grounds and the facilities, but we can't do it alone. We need your help in building on the legacy of Rundle's Mission .
The Plan
The immediate need is to renew and refurnish the interiors (including new beds!!) of the Memorial Lodge and the MacDougall-Steinhauer/ Campbell Houses.
Importantly, our plans will ensure the Memorial Lodge and Houses are made more accessible to people of all abilities. The cost of renewing and refurnishing our existing facilities is $150,000. We need your help to achieve this. This will immediately enhance the experience of guests, as well as making Rundle's Mission accessible for guests who might not otherwise be able to use our facilities.
At the same time, we haven't lost sight of the need to begin planning for new buildings that are more flexible for larger and smaller sized groups. Many visitors need suitable sites for recreational vehicle camping and future plans will accommodate this. And we're excited about the possibilities of creating a heritage interpretive centre on the lakeshore that will provide a welcome for all visitors and include interpretive exhibits on the natural and human history of Pigeon Lake . With existing facilities renewed, we can turn to the future and add to the legacy that has been passed on from the founding and early members of Rundle's Mission Society.
There are many ways you can contribute to the Rundle's Mission Capital Campaign. Every dollar counts and helps us reach our goal. More campaign details available at info@rundlesmission.org
